Salon Perfect First Look Fall Polish Forecast, 2013-Swatches-Part 1

It's days like today, with a heat index of 105 degrees, that makes me super anxious for cooler months. Not only because of the cooler temperatures, but I really love the colors of Fall. And the nail polish makers are going strong with the Fall collections. I was recently sent half of the newest Salon Perfect First Look Fall Polish Forecast Collection, for review. And after seeing the collection in person, I purchased the other half.  In addition to the newest 11 shades, this collection includes a matte top coat, Matte FX, so that actually doubles the number of manicures you can achieve from this collection :)

Today, I'm sharing the first four from the collection. I'm also showing swatches of these four topped with the new matte top coat.
*Playful Plum is described as dark berry sheen . Its a pretty purple with a red undertone. Like that red-violet crayon from the Crayola box. This is photographed using 2 coats. The manicure using the matte top coat is using one coat of the Matte FX. I'm really liking this mattified look. While this is not a unique shade, it is certainly a shade that needs to be in every collection.

Next is *Raisin The Roof, described as plum raisin with gold shimmer. I actually didn't have anything in my collection like this shade.  I like the dark shade without it being black.  I normally prefer a shiny finish, but I'm loving this shade with the Matte FX top coat.

This next shade is Dirty Martini. It is very close to a China Glaze shade I've been wanting from a Christmas collection several years back, Peace On Earth.  It is a gorgeous olive green with golden shimmer. I did have a slight issue with brush strokes but if you are applying the Matte FX, no issue at all.

Lastly for this posting is Cafe' Ole', described as a milk chocolate brown with a gold shimmer. for some reason, the matte version of this polish reminds me of a cashmere sweater-cozy. The shiny version gives me a winter mannequin look.  Again, this is two coats and then one coat of the Matte FX. The application of each of these four was smooth. I really do like the Salon Perfect line. I foresee others being added to my collection.

I've done several blog posts on the Salon Perfect brand and even had a giveaway. Salon Perfect and China Glaze are manufactured by the same parent company so some of these shades may look very familiar. If you are interested in the Salon Perfect brand, click HERE. I plan to so some comparison posts in the very near future. Have you tried any of the Salon Perfect polishes? Which are your favorites?

Salon Perfect’s First Look Fall Polish Forecast launched earlier this month exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide as part of a limited edition promotional display.  Individual shades will retail for $3.98.
