Glitter Galore: Sinful Color Diamond Lust Collection - I Dream In Jewels layered over Pure Ice Over The Top

Last week I started sharing with you some of the Sinful Colors glitters I purchased from the new Diamond Lust collection along with complementary bases.  I am still surprised just how much I have been drawn to glitters lately.

Today, I have another combination to share.  When I first saw the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust display, the very first polish I was drawn to was a gorgeous golden copper glitter named I Dream In Jewels. This clear base has a mixture of gold and red micro glitters along with holographic diamond shaped glitter.
As I explained previously, the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust collection consists of clear bases with colorful  and holographic glitters. There are multiple sized and shaped glitters, including micro, diamond, bar, dot and hexagonal.

I decided to layer Sinful Colors I Dream In Jewels over another of my untrieds. I decided on Pure Ice Over The Top. This was one of the limited edition polishes Pure Ice released as part of their Runway Collection last Fall.  Over The Top was part of the Velour Finish Collection.  It dries to a gorgeous matte suede finish.  I love this shade and finish against my skin tone. I own a couple others and need to see if I can find the others from this collection.  The application was simple with no issues. As pictured, this is 2 coats.

So to my Pure Ice Over The Top manicure, I layered Sinful Colors I Dream In Jewels. I am loving this combination and can't wait to match it with other shades in my stash.  It almost has a mannequin look but with a little bling.

Well, I will have other Sinful Colors Diamond Lust combination very soon.  If you missed my previous post, click here to see Rags To Riches

The glitter bug has really bitten me. I have been buying glitter polishes like crazy lately. What are some of your favorite glitter polishes?

REVIEW: Pixi Beauty: The Look of Summer 2013

Today I would like to share with you a brand I have seen in Target, but its just recently that I have tried any of their products.  Today I would like to share with you the new Summer 2013 Pixi Beauty Nail Colors. I received these polishes to review.  With Memorial Day less than 30 days away, its time that we start getting our Summer polishes ready.  It won't be long before the sandals will be our daily footwear. So what will be your pedicure polishes for the season?

Pixie Beauty has given us three great shades that will compliment any tanned skin tone.  First, there is Fluoro Flamingo, it is a bright bubblegum pink cream. I would say that this is just short of neon.  The first coat was a bit streaky but with a second, coat application as smooth.

Next, is Summer Sunset. When I first saw this shade I didn't realize that it has a golden shimmer. Summer Sunset is a beautiful orangey-coral.  This is probably my favorite of the collection and will certainly be one of my go-to pedicure polishes.  Application was easy and the color was intense with two coats.

Lastly, in this collection is Wakeup Wisteria, a mid-tone lilac creamy-jelly, or as a fellow nail blogger calls this finish, a "crelly".  Of the three, I believe that the application of Wakeup Wisteria was the smoothest. It was almost what I would call "self leveling". I hope to find other shades with this finish.

Pixi Beauty is a brand that prides itself with the mission to "make women look like themselves, only better."  While the Pixi Beauty Nail Colors also claims, "Super smooth application with a chip-resistant finish and built-in UV protection to prevent polish discoloration."

Their nail colors are 3-Free (Toluene, Formaldehyde and DBP free.) The Pixi Beauty product line is available online at www.pixibeauty.com and www.target.com, as well as in Target Stores nationwide.

Have you tried any of the Pixi Beauty Nail Colors? Which are your favorites?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

My 1st GIVEAWAY: Salon Perfect Nail Lacquers

Well the time has come to do my first giveaway. If you follow my blog or follow me on YouTube, Twitter, or Instagram you know that recently I found a new display of Salon Perfect nail lacquers at my local Walmart. I explained that when I was looking at the polishes I saw tons of China Glaze dupes.  Being that I have reviewed both China Glaze and Salon Perfect polishes, I knew that they were both manufactured by American International Industries (AII).  Seeing this new display and so many dupes of the China Glaze polishes lead me to ask some questions. So I reached out to my contact with their public relations firm.  I mentioned that I was thinking about doing a giveaway.  Not only was she nice enough to give me a call to answer my questions, she was also gracious enough to offer to supply me with several polishes for my giveaway.

Some points about Salon Perfect:

  • Salon Perfect is a Walmart exclusive.
  • Salon Perfect has a core collection of over 50 shades that are available year round. Display sizes may vary between Walmarts.
  • Salon Perfect will also release seasonal collections.
  • Salon Perfect is not an exact dupe of the China Glaze line. China Glaze is a professional line that contains China Clay (a hardener), whereas, Salon Perfect does not have that additive. There is a slight difference in the formulation. You will be able to make your own decision with the comparison pictures I've posted below.
  • Salon Perfect retails for $3.98 for a 0.5 fl oz bottle.
  • Brush heads are very similar. This is my own observation.
So what is the Giveaway? When I was looking at the Salon Perfect display, I was naming the China Glaze dupes, so the winner of this giveaway will receive 8 Salon Perfect Nail Lacquers, that I thought were very similar to 8 of the most popular China Glaze line.

The winner will receive a bottle of Salon Perfect's He's With Me, Ocean Treasure, Berry Nice, Faux Glow, After Midnight, Pure Azure, Light My Fire, and Purple Passion.

Just so you can see what I'm seeing, here are the Salon Perfect shades compared to my China Glaze shades.

Glitter Galore: Sinful Color Diamond Lust Collection - Rags to Riches layered with Zoya Zuza

Sinful Colors has recently released the Diamond Lust collection. At first, I said that I would let this collection pass. I have said many times over that I'm not a lover of glitter polishes. But who am I fooling, I have continually increased my collection of glitter polishes. So the first time I saw this display in my local Walgreens, I bought 3 from the Diamond Lust collection. And the very next day, I was back in Walgreens again and I purchased 3 more from the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust collection. So far, I have purchased 6 of the 8 in this collection.

Sinful Colors is known for great colors and finishes, but they are also known for $1.99 polishes. But the Diamond Lust collection is different. They retail for $2.99 each.

This collection consists of clear bases with colorful glitters. There are multiple sized and shaped glitters, including micro, diamond, bar, dot and hexagonal glitters.

With the clear base, you are given tons of color combination options. So today, I went back to my untrieds and pulled out Zoya Zuza.  Zuza was released last year as part of the Zoya Beach and Surf collection. I could kick myself for waiting so long to wear this polish...it's a teal-aqua blue! You know how I feel about blue polishes...love them!  As with most of the Zoya polishes I own and have tried, the application was smooth with no issues.
Zoya Zuza's beauty can stand on its own, but for this posting, I paired it with one of the new Sinful Colors Diamond Lust polishes-Rags to Riches.  Rags to Riches has micro green glitters with blue dot and diamond glitters all suspended in a clear base.
I normally don't wear full glitter manicure. I usually go for just an accent nail,  but there is something about this collection that has me wearing glitter on all ten fingernails...love this collection!  So that's it for the first polish in this collection. I will be sharing with you the other 5 I purchased along with the color combinations I selected.

Have you picked up any of the polishes from the new Sinful Collection Diamond Lust collection yet? If so, which ones?

I must admit that I am quickly becoming a Glitter girl. What are some of your favorite glitter polishes?

Orly Hope and Freedom Fest 2013 - Elation Generation & Coachella Dweller

The Orly Hope and Freedom Fest Collection came out earlier this year. It has 6 great Spring shades.  From this collection I purchased 2-Elation Generation and Coachella Dweller.
Orly Elation Generation was the first from the collection that I knew I had to own.  It is a sheer pretty pink jelly with holographic micro glitters.  Although, it has a jelly finish, I was able to get a fully opaque finish with just 2 coats.

I really wish Orly would release more polishes like Elation Generation.  This and the recent Miss Conduct are two very pretty shades that I love to have in my collection.  I would love to see the same finish in some of the jewel tones, like sapphire navy, emerald green and amethyst purple.

The other polish I purchased from the Hope and Freedom Fest Collection is Coachella Dweller.  It is a pale foam green cream.

It was a bit streaky with the first coat but after applying the 2nd coat it was smooth. As pictured, I am wearing 2 coats.

These 2 shades along with the other 4 from the collection should still be available at your local retailers. I know I still want to get the yellow from this collection.  Have you purchased any from this collection yet, and if so, which ones?

Here Comes The Sun...Salon Perfect Orange A-Peel

Living in Florida, I know a thing or two about Oranges. And today's Salon Perfect Orange A-Peel is like an orange in a bottle.  On a recent trip to Walmart, I found the revamped Salon Perfect collection.  I was already familiar with the brand.  I reviewed the line last year when they released their Spring collection.  But they have recently revamped their bottle as well as their line.  I will go into more detail with a later post, as I have a giveaway in the works.
But for today, I'm sharing with you one of my recent purchases, Orange A-Peel.  This is a bright, just short of neon orange. It dries to a satin matte finish.

Here I am wearing 2 coats with no top coat. The first coat went on a bit streaky but leveled off with the 2nd coat. I really like the Salon Perfect product line and look forward to additions to the collection.  They have creams, glitters, neons, and many other fashion colors; many of which will look very similar to a professional brand you are probably very familiar with...hint, hint...

Salon Perfect is exclusive to Walmart and sells for $3.98 for 0.5 fl oz bottle. There are currently over 60 shades in the collection.
Salon Perfect Orange A-Peel is just an excellent Summer shade and would look great against all tan skintones. So go get you pedicure and pull out your favorite sandals. What are some of your favorite Summer shades?

Finger Paints Itsy Bitsy Spider Went Up The Water Spot...

"The Itsy Bitsy spider climbed up the water spout, Down came the rain, and washed the spider out, Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain, So the Itsy Bitsy spider climbed up the spout again. I can't look at this polish without reciting this childhood poem. The Finger Paints 2013 Spring Collection greeted me as I walked into my local Sally Beauty. The first polish of this collection that grabbed my attention was Finger Paints Itsy Bitsy Spider. I have no idea what the name has to do with the color but OK...

There was no question, I would own this shade.  It's a lilac-lavender duochrome with a pinky turquoise iridescence.  It reminds me of OPI Color To Watch and Scrangie by Rescue Beauty Lounge; and since both are not readily available, I'm glad I got Finger Paints Itsy Bitsy Spider.

At first sight, I was concerned that it was very sheer and therefore, would need several coats to achieve full opacity, but that is not the case.  These pictures are 2 coats and there is no visible nail lines.

I have loved Finger Paints nail polishes for ages. I really don't think they get enough love. What have been some of your favorite Finger Paint shades?
