***NEW***: butter LONDON™ LIPPY Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection

Trends for Autumn/Winter 2012:

The matchy-matchy lip and nail trend is here to stay! Inspired by the high-impact lips seen on the catwalks this season, the LIPPY Autumn/Winter 2012 collection includes bold pops of color, chic nudes and a vampy hue. The shades are rich and highly pigmented for a look that’s luxe and perfectly on trend!

Toff

Colour: A darker, dustier, brownish variation on a rose pink. Stop to smell them. The roses, not the toffs.

Definition:  A slightly derogatory name for a member of the British upper class.

Come to Bed Red

Colour:  The sexiest red in history, by butter LONDON.

Definition:  ENOUGH SAID! A butter best seller for “Coco” wannabes.

Tea with the Queen

Colour:  On the pink side of tan, very neutral, but never boring. Understated and exceptional for work, or obviously, tea with the Queen.

Definition:  A highly prestigious invitation extended to important and boring members of the British public.

La Moss

Colour:  Vampy and full of red wine, just like its inspiration.

Definition:  Adding the prefix “La” to anyone’s name implies that they are a diva. A fashionista’s nickname for England’s most famous model.

Queen Vic

Colour:  Stunning, elegant and classy. Red wine meets cranberry. Fit for a queen.

Definition:  Beloved monarch, responsible for many of London’s most beautiful landmarks. (Also the name of about 3,000 English pubs).

Scrub Away the Mondays...AVEENO Positively Ageless Resurfacing Scrub

As I've posted in the past, I love DIY spa days. One of my favorite parts of that process is the facial scrub. And just so happens, I'd been contemplating starting a new series on facial scrubs-Scrub Away the Mondays.  There is currently, several facial scrubs already in my stash that I am planning to review. However, just today, I received a package from a brand of which I have used for years. Today, I would like to share with you a fairly new product, AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS® Resurfacing Scrub

During my earlier years, I most often turned to the Aveeno Clear Complexion collection whenever I experienced breakouts.  I still keep a bottle of the Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer at hand just in case. Over the past few years, I have started seeing those nasty little signs of aging, so I amped up my anti-aging game.  I have been given the opportunity to try some of the products from  AVEENO'S POSITIVELY AGELESS®  collection. This collection is made up of several anti-aging products, that claim to help preserve each individual's skin to help reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone, and to help correct the look of discolorations.  As I am in my mid-40s, this is just what I need. LOL!

The AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS® Resurfacing Scrub is a gentle, oil-free, allergy tested scrub. Most of us have tried those scrubs that felt like sandpaper on our skin.  This is probably the most gentle scrub I have come across yet. At first touch, I was suspect; the microbeads are almost non-detectable, but after massaging in circular motions, I felt the very fine, microbeads. Not the abrasive granules, so many scrubs & exfoliators contain.  This non-comedogenic (non-pore blocking) formula is definitely gentle enough for daily use.
Another benefit of AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS® Resurfacing Scrub is that is contains Vitamin C. Vitamin C is increasingly being found in more skin care products. It is an antioxidant that has shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS® Resurfacing Scrub also features their Natural Shiitake Complex Technology. "The AVEENO® Brand has captured the beauty-enhancing benefits of this natural antioxidant, within the ACTIVE NATURALS® Natural Shiitake Complex which works with the skin's own natural renewal process to help deliver a broad-spectrum of benefits."

My experiences:

I have maturing, combination-oily skin. My skin texture issues are rough patches on my cheeks, chin and on my nose.  I used this product as directed, applying it to moistened skin and massaged in circular motions.  Afterward, my skin was smooth, and soft, including what were my rough patches. I absolutely love the scent, it's not overpowering or irritating. Also, it didn't leave any residual feel. So the question is would I recommend this product to anyone and would I purchase it for myself? Yes.

I received several other products from this line and can't wait to share them with you. So if you're experiencing those first signs of aging, please give the AVEENO POSITIVELY AGELESS® collection a try.

***NEW***: butter LONDON™ Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection

Trends for Autumn/Winter 2012:

Sequins! Velvet! Satin! Tweed!  This season, the catwalks were abundant with rich texture!  We’ve translated this to nails through the infusion of glitter particles and metallic and holographic finishes. The colour tones speak to “earthiness” but are not specifically earth tones – think rust, shimmering greens and silvers. This collection feels future-forward but not futuristic. This season is all about using texture to add interest and depth to your look!

Lovely Jubbly

Colour:  A vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue and gold micro particles. Channeling a distinctly retro 70’s feel, this sultry glitter gives high impact sparkle perfect for Disco Divas.

Definition:  Brit speak for “Excellent.”  Used when a person hears pleasing news or has a stroke of good luck.
Trustafarian

Colour:  A golden holographic finish gives this delightful sage green a surprising and sophisticated edge.  ***I See "Holo"!!!!***

Definition:  A spoiled rich kid who pretends to be a hippy but still goes home to Daddy’s mansion on the weekend.
Gobsmacked

Colour:  A heavily pigmented charcoal grey glitter with a slightly textured finish. This shade is unlike anything we’ve seen before.  A legend in the making!

Definition:  To be totally speechless.  Unable to think of anything to say.

Shag

Colour:  A high-shine metallic lacquer in a warm orange-burgundy hue. Reminiscent of fallen Autumn leaves. Sigh.

Definition:  Brit slang for “knocking boots.”

Dodgy Barnett

Colour:  A highly holographic shade that blurs the line between grey and silver. A classic!   ***I See "Holo"!!!!***

Definition:  A bad hairdo. A mullet of any variety is a seriously Dodgy Barnett.

Fall, 2012 Pantone Fashion Color Trends...

I realize that the air is still saturated with the scents of summer, but I love the cooler months so it goes without saying that I was anxious to see what the fashion colors of Fall, 2012.  So the source of all sources for this information is PANTONE®, the Authority of Color.  PANTONE® has identified 10 shades for the Fall of 2012.

The polish addict in me had to see which polishes I already own and which I still need to acquire to have my nails set for Fall, 2012.  You will quickly see, some colors, I still need to do some shopping while others, I am more than ready for the season.

"Rich and robust, French Roast is a tasty, sophisticated hue that is a great alternative to the black and charcoal basics typically worn in the fall."
L - R: ChG Ingrid, SC Winterberry, OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

I still need to pick up a couple more for the French Roast category, maybe a shimmer or two.  Any suggestions?

"Honey Gold, a mellow, burnished yellow, suggests the soft-muted tones of sunlight to brighten a fall day."
L - R: Orly Glitz, Pure Ice Bite Me, OPI Rising Star

All I have in this category are shimmers, or metallics.  I need a cream gold or honey shade. Have you ever seen such a polish?

"Like the name implies, Pink Flambé is a delicious, vibrant pink with a bit of heat to it."
L - R: Essie Big Spender, Essie Super Bossa Nova, Orly Frolic, Orly Hawaiian Punch

L - R: Icing Purple Passion, ChG Fuchsia Fanatic, SC Cream Pink, OPI Ate Berries In The Canaries

I think I am set for Pink Flambé.  I couldn't even limited my selection for this post. LOL!

"...vivacious and enticing Tangerine Tango for an ongoing retro feeling."
L - R: ChG Riveting, Nina Pro Evening Sun, Zoya Myra, SC Big Daddy

Earlier this year, Tangerine Tango was identified as the Color of the Year, I have been gathering polishes since.  I even blogged about this color back in April. Click Here for blog post.

"to bring a calming element to the mix, ...Ultramarine Green, a deep, cooling blue-green. "
L - R: SH Real Teal, Orly Green With Envy, SC Rise & Shine, ChG Exotic Encounters

I am surprised just how many Ultramarine Greens I own and like. I think I am set unless there is a new release that I can't live without.

"As the season transitions from the heat of summer, Bright Chartreuse, a vital yellow-green, pays homage to a typical spring shade and creates a bridge into the cooling days of fall. Reminiscent of bright green foliage, it provides a perfect accent to every color in the palette."
L - R: FP Guggen I'm Lime, SC Happy Endings, WnW I Gotta a New Com-Pewter, FP Sexy Sundress

When I first read that Chartreuse was one of the colors, I thought I wouldn't have any in my collection and would need to add this color to my shopping list, but to my surprise, I am set.
"...sensible and strong Olympian Blue, a patriotic blue that will surely make its way into fall and winter athletic apparel."
L - R: SC Blue By You, Orly Royal Navy, Essie Mesmerized, WnW Grew Up In Cobalt-Imore

L - R: ChG Frostbite, ChG Blue Sparrow, Pure Ice French Kiss

If you have followed my blog for more than 10 minutes, you know that Blue and Purple would not be an issue for me.  I found these and some but limited myself to these blues above.
" Other staple neutrals include elegant and versatile Titanium, the quintessential cool gray, "
L - R: SC Slate, Orly Decoded, Loreal VIP Status, ChG Hologram

I remember, the first time I saw someone wearing a gray polish, it was so different but so pretty. I have been looking for that perfect gray for my skin tone (warm).
"...Ethereal Rhapsody is a grayed-down purple that also encourages comfort and serenity with its quiet, muted tone."
L - R: SC Amethyst, ChG Gothic Lolita, ChG Spontaneous, AA African Violet

L - R: Orly Charged Up, OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, Zoya Tru

Purple, need I say any more? If I must, dusty purple is a welcomed shade for the fall season.
"and Rose Smoke, a veiled rose tone that pairs well with Rhapsody and Titanium."
L - R: Orly Your Blushing, Orly Prelude to a Kiss, SC Star Fish

This Rose Smoke was probably to most difficult to find matches in my collection. I am more of one who likes bold colors.  I did find these three in my collection.

So, according to PANTONE® , these are the colors for the 2012, Fall season. Surprisingly,  PANTONE®  didn't include the typical fall colors, like deep burgundy, green, rust, and red.  Are you ready, or do you still have some shopping to do?  What polishes are on your list to get?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.
