We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink...(Day 4)

It may be a little late, but here is Day 4 of my We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink.  Today is another polish that has been in my collection untried for several seasons.  Today I'm sharing China Glaze It's Poppin'.  This is from the Spring, 2009 Kicks collection; which included some other great pinks, such as: B-Girlz, Laced Up, and Fly.

China Glaze It's Poppin' is a hot pink shimmer but I definitely would not call it neon. It doesn't have the "Bamm, in you face" quality.

The application was normal for most China Glaze polishes. This picture is 2 coats but I would probably go for 3 to ensure no VNL.

NOTE: Please don't forget to your your monthly self breast exam. Also, why not remind 2 other women or men whom you love, to do the same. We must realize that breast cancer does not discriminate.

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink...(Day 3)

For Day 3 of my We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink, today I am sharing with you Zoya Kimber from the Beach & Surf Collection from the Summer of 2012.

The Zoya website describes Kimber as a "Rich, bright and saturated medium magenta pink with strong gold metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish."  I would add that it is a warm raspberry magenta pink.

The application was smooth and Zoya Kimber was completely opaque with only 2 coats. While I purchased my Zoya polishes from Zoya.com there is a limited selection often found at Ulta.  The regular price is $8.00 per bottle however, if you don't already have an account set up with Zoya.com, it would definitely pay to set one up (it's free!).  Zoya is famous for the many promotions they offer throughout the year.

BTW: Yes, I did file my nails back.  It was time.

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink...(Day 2)

Day 2 of my We Must Find a Cure! - 31 Days of Pink. Today I bring you a polish that I have had in my untrieds for about 2 years. It's a gorgeous color and I don't know what took me so long to use it. Today i'm sharing with you Icing Purple Passion. Yes, I realize the name states that this is a "purple" but in my opinion, it is a pink with a purple undertone.  Icing Purple Passion is a satin finish blue based pink with silver micro shimmers. (it's the lighting that is giving the shimmers a blue tint but they are in fact silver.)

While in these pictures, I am wearing 2 coats, I would suggest 3 coats to ensure no visible nail line (VNL). The application of this polish was a little runny but nothing too difficult to work with. I currently only own a few Icing polishes but from the looks of Icing Purple Passion, I need to get more.

Icing is a subsidiary of Claires Stores, Inc. and can be found in your local malls.

We Must Find a Cure! 31 Days of Pink...(Day 1)

October 1st marks the beginning of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) and to show my support, I am participating in a blog hop with several other bloggers. So for the month of October, Shades of Beauty, Inc is going pink. I will make every attempt to post a different pint polish each day.

But first a few facts that just may save a life.  Ladies AND Men, please do your monthly self breast exams:
  • Every 2 minutes, there is a new breast cancer diagnosis.
  • Every 14 minutes, a life is lost to the disease.
  • Over 40,000 people will die this year; about 400 of them will be men.
  • 85% of all diagnoses have no family history.
  • 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women between ages 40 and 55.
Now on to the pink polish of the day...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my first pink I wanted to start with a little more than just 1 pink polish so today, I am sharing with you, the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection that was released during the early summer of 2012.
This was a collection of four shades, each indicative of that classic first lady of Disney, Minnie Mouse.  They included:
  • Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It
  • I’m All Ears
  • If You Moust You Moust
  • The Color of Minnie
Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It - It's a ultra pink sheer glass flecked shimmer with heart-shape confetti (for lack of a better term). This polish, while it can be worn alone is best as a topper. The hearts are difficult to apply and instead of being able to "polish" them on, I need to almost pat or dot them on. In this picture, I am wearing 3 coats.
Next, is I'm All Ears, a raspberry pink, with a pinky-blue shimmer. While not as sheer as Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It, even after 3 coats, I still had visible nail line.
My favorite in the collection, is If You Moust You Moust. A beautiful blue based pink creme. I surprisingly had some streaking with this formula. It was almost a cross between a creme and a jelly. This is 2 coats.
Last in this collection is the classic Minnie Mouse red, called The Color of Minnie.  It is a bright red with a pink & blue iridescent shimmer. As pictured, this is 2 coats.
I believe that the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection was a limited edition collection, but maybe they can still be found it in some of your local retailers and online shops.  Living only 2.5 hours from Disney World, I need to go visit Minnie and Mickey more often. I don't think anyone ever outgrows Disney.  Which is your favorite Disney character?
