Zing into Spring! Pastels!!!!
Thursday, January 19, 2012
We have been bombarded with jewel-tones, glitters, and holiday manicures for several months. And I am so ready for lighter and brighter colors. Some of the up and coming collections are pointed in the direction of the spring/summer colors. This lead me to want to pull out some of my pastels and give you some spring, jellybean spam...LOL! I know that in other parts of the country there is still feet of snow on the grown. But here in Florida, I have already seen the first signs of spring with the flowering bushes peeking through.

China Glaze's 2012 ElectroPop Collection will soon be available at your local retail (February, 2012). I was sent a few from both the "Light" and the "Bright" collections to share with you.
From the "Lights" Collection, I have:
- Sweet Hook, it is a soft lilac opaque creme. This polish is in the same family as Orly Lollipop, OPI A Grape Fit, & China Glaze Spontaneous
- Gothic Lolita, a medium purple shimmer with a slight blue duo. I had nothing even close to a dup in my collection of this polish.
- Fuchsia Fanatic, a fuchsia pink opaque creme. This reminds me of OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries, Essie Big Spender, & China Glaze Make an Entrance.
From the "Brights" Collection, I have:
- Aquadelic, is a soft turquoise opaque creme. This polish is in the same family as Orly Gumdrop, and China Glaze For Audrey.
- Make Some Noise, a perfect tangerine orange opaque creme. Currently nothing in my collection similar.
Of the 5 shades, the application was customary for the China Glaze formula. They applied smooth and with no streaking. If applied with care, you could get complete opacity with only one coat. However, out of habit, I applied two coats. As expected with the China Glaze formula, these polishes applied with no running; not too thin or too thick. With my normal polish regimen, my normal wear with China Glaze is 2 weeks with some tip wear. This collection is great for the upcoming spring and summer. It is chock full of fashionable colors.
- Bottle: 14 mL – 0.5 Fl oz.
- Brush: Standard narrow brush
* These sample products were sent to me for review by the PR department of the Manufacturer. These however are my honest opinions. I am not employed by nor was I paid by this company.

I know that I am not the first and won't be the last to post about these. I got my hands on the new Finger Paints Special Effects polishes, well 4 of the 5 so far. I also wanted to compare them to Nubar 2010 and the 2010 Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat. So here are my bottle and nail wheel pictures. So to start, I layered my flakies over Sinful Colors Black.

COLLECTIVE HAUL: MAC, Sephora, Sally, Walgreens, & BSS and an introduction
Sunday, January 8, 2012
I avoided the malls and shopping centers during the After-Christmas sales. But when I finally did make my rounds, I did a little damage. Here is my collective haul from MAC, Sephora, Sally, Walgreens and a Beauty Supply Store. Sidenote: After one year, I figured it was time to see the face behind the nails, such that it is. LOL!
NOTD: Orly Cotton Candy
Friday, January 6, 2012
With all the recent Fall and Winter holidays, and so many dark, autumnal, jewel, and glittery polishes, I was just in the mood for something softer. So I went to my stash and decided on one of my untrieds, Orly Cotton Candy. At first I was thinking that it was not appropriate for this time of year, but I just needed something softer. When I first put it on, I wasn't sure that I was going to like it. But the next day, I went out and saw it in the bright Florida sun and I was won over. This is a beautiful soft pastel bubble gum (or Cotton Candy) pink cream. In the 2 days I have been wearing it, I have received tons of compliments. Total strangers have ask me what polish I was wearing. It was part of the 2010 Spring Sweet Collection that included other lovelies such as Snowcone, Pixy Stix, Lemonade, Lollipop, and Gumdrop. I need to get a few of those also. Orly Cotton Candy is not one to be overlooked or left for the summer months.
