2014 Pantone Color of the Year-Radiant Orchid

NOTD: Orly Miss Conduct w/ OPI DS Extravagance Comparison

Hello All. I know its been a while, I hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine's Day. Also, I would like to say "Welcome" to all my newer followers. I appreciate each and everyone of you. 

On to my current NOTD. One of my all-time favorite polishes is OPI DS Extravagance, so when I first spotted Orly Miss Conduct from their 2012 Naughty  or Nice Holiday collection, I was intrigued.  Orly has long since been one of my favorite brands; in my opinion they have some of the best creme polishes.

Orly Miss Conduct is an absolutely beautiful magenta-raspberry based scattered holographic polish. This was one of those manicures I couldn't stop staring at throughout the day. And when in the sun, OMG! Drop-dead gorgeous!  The application was almost a one-coater, but as I always do, I applied two coats.  The formula was smooth and generated no flooding of the cuticles. These pictures are with a top coat. Using my regular polish application process, I experienced no chipping, or peeling.

I would love to see Orly release an entire collection of jewel-toned polishes with this finish. Could you imagine an Amethyst Purple, a Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green, or Citrine Gold, each with this holographic finish, OMG! That would be a must for my collection.  Well I can only hope. 

As I mentioned earlier, this polish reminded me of one of my all-time favorites, so of course I needed to do a side-be-side comparison. OPI DS Extravagance is darker and the holo is not as strong as Orly Miss Conduct. But both are still great additions to any collection. 

OPI Extravagance can still be found in some retail locations. But since Orly Miss Conduct was part of their holiday collection, it is probably not still sold in stores.  But I have seen it on some of the online retailer's websites.

Every so often I come across a polish, that I really regret having to remove, Orly Miss Conduct is one of those polishes. If you can find it, I would strongly suggest you grab it up quickly.

What were my experiences with COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss?

My normal manicure regimen calls for 2-3 treatments and base coats, so multi-function polishes always throw me a little bit. The first time I used this product, I applied it to bare nails, and I must admit, it applied like a dream, smooth and flawless.  Going forward, I would start with a treatment product and then follow up with the polish.  These pictures are 2 coats.

 

While the initial shades available are pretty, they are common; so I look forward to more new and fashion forward shades.

NOTD: OPI-Don’t Wine…Yukon Do It!!! (By Request)

OPI-Don't Wine...Yukon Do It!

This polish is a long-time untried.  I can’t even remember when I purchased it.  And although I liked it enough to buy it, had it not been for the request from another nail blogger (The Polish Parade), it would probably still be sitting with the other untrieds.  Don’t Wine…Yukon Do It is from the 2004 Canadian Collection.  In the bottle, it doesn’t look like anything super spectacular.  Just another everyday magenta.  However, once applied, it is something special.  It almost has two personalities.  From one angle, it has almost a red overcast, but change the angle and you get the blast if magenta.  I was sitting in church (before service started, LOL!) and couldn’t help but notice the change in color.  It is difficult to capture the true beauty in a photograph.  Don’t Wine…Yukon Do It is a beautiful, raspberry, magenta; bright enough for spring/summer and deep enough for fall/winter.

Review: Application-standard for OPI, smooth.Opacity-BC, In this photo I applied 3 coats, & TC.  Although I used 3 coats, 2 is all that was really needed.  I was just experimenting.
