I was recently invited to review the services of a site going through its re-launch. I tend to be very sceptical, but after asking some of my fellow bloggers, and doing some personal research, I decided to give it a try. The site is b-glowing.com. They describe themselves as, "a leading online specialty beauty retailer
featuring an extraordinary collection of hard-to-find niche beauty products
alongside some of the worlds most coveted beauty brands."
b-glowing.com also offers free shipping, hassle free
returns (you don't like the product just send it back); to see their shipping policy click HERE and to see their returns policy, click HERE. I also like that they accept PayPal, which is really important to me.
As I mentioned, they carry brands that I am familiar with and as well as those that I am not, so I decided to select products from brands with which I was familiar, but products that I have never used; and I also selected brands that I was totally unfamiliar with.
The next product I selected was from a brand I was familiar with but had never tried this particular product. Peter Thomas Roth, is a brand that a fellow YouTuber, Pink2Paris, has often raved about. I chose the Peter Thomas Roth Gentle Foaming Cleanser. Now I already have a holy grail one step facial cleanser that I have loved for years, but this product also touts that it is a cleanser and makeup remover in-one, that is also soap-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, and good for all skin types.
My first attempt to use it, I was not overly impressed. While it did cleanse my face, it did not remove all of my eye makeup. I tried it several other times, but after using an eye makeup remover. I must admit, I do like the results of using this product, especially when I used it with my Clarisonic. The jury is still out on if I will purchase this product, but I am glad that I gave it a try. I will be giving other products from the Peter Thomas Roth brand a try. I will not give in my aging without a hard fought anti-aging battle, LOL!
The next product I selected was from a brand I was totally unfamiliar with, LaLicious. But as I have mentioned on more than one occassion, I love Coconut Oil for my hair and skin, so when I saw this LaLicious Cream Sugar Souffle Scrub, I saw this as another score. I have but a few requirements when selecting a body scrub; they can't be oil-based. I hate having to worry about slipping in the shower when using a scrub. The granuales cannot be so harsh that they scratch my skin. Exfoliating, should be enjoyable, not painful. And lastly, the scent has to add to the overall experience. Again, this product is a score! When I first opened this 16oz jar, if I had had a spoon, OMG! This stuff smells good enough to eat. It reminds me of a coconut cream coffee I tried years ago at the Southern Women's Show and have been searching for ever since. And as an added bonus, the ingredients:
"Cane Sugar, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Essential and Fragrance Oils, Vitamin E Oil, Soybean Oil, Honey", All Natural--HELLO!?!?!My normal routine with exfoliants is to apply them to dry skin, massage, then shower, but as this is a cream base, I showered first, and applied the LaLicious Coconut Cream Sugar Souffle after then rinsed. This left my skin so soft, and so moisturized that I really didn't need a body lotion afterward. LaLicious is definitely a brand that I will be revisiting.
Lastly, I selected a product from a brand that I have used for some time, Bliss. Wish the Bliss gods would bring back their Shock Therapy-Super Minty Body Wash. That was my absolute favorite hot summer days body wash. But I digress, I had never tried their Body Butter. I selected the Bliss Naked Body Butter. I chose this for those days, that I was wearing a fragrance for which I did not have the matching moisturizer. The Bliss Naked Body Butter is fragrance free and paraben free. As we are fast approaching Winter, this has been an excellent moisturizer for these colder days. I apply it to my damp skin and it keeps my skin hydrated and moisturized throughout the day. There are other scents of their body butter that I need to try. In addition, the next time I go home to NY or visit family in Atlanta, I really need to make a spa appointment at one of the Bliss Spas.
A final note about my order with b-glowing.com, it also included a little "Thank you for your order card" as well as three samples. I love samples. Note to self: I still need to do that "What's in my samples stash" post and video, LOL! Anyway, I got a sample of Skyn Iceland Angelica Line Smoother, a Peter Thomas Roth Laser-Free Resurfacer, and a Neil George Indian Gooseberry Treatment Oil for my hair. Each of which I will definiately use.
So this has been my experience with b-glowing.com. I can say that I have enjoyed the service and the products and now have another resource when seeking out products. What, if any, has been your experience with b-glowing.com since its relauch?
Grace, Peace, &
Blessings.
* These sample products were sent to me for review
consideration by the PR department of the online retailer. These however are my
honest opinions. I am not employed by nor was I paid by any of the companies.
