Upon opening the box, I was greeted with this beautiful artwork celebrating a rainbow of melanin.
With each box, as with most subscription boxes, comes a postcard listing the contents and prices for individual products. Each OnyxBox contains full-size and deluxe size hair, skin, beauty and makeup products.
So let's jump into the September 2017 OnyxBox. I'm seeing skincare, makeup, a nail polish and a fragrance.
Tokyomilk perfume in the Honey & the Moon ($30). The top note detected is definitely the warmth of honey. First impressions, although this is not a scent that I would be drawn to, I will be giving it a try to see how it works with my body chemistry.
Purlisse ($36) 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk. I have been working to step up my skincare game, so I am excited to give this cleansing milk a try.
Law Beauty Essentials ($9) This shade, 2 PM Wine, is perfect for Fall and Winter. It is very similar to the reds and berries I wore before falling in love with blue. The formulation was slightly thick but it still required 2 coats to obtain full opacity. Be careful to wear a base coat, since similar dark colors tend to stain.
Bella Pierre Cosmetics-Mineral Lipstick ($20) This shade, Envy, is in sync with the dusty, pinky nudes I gravitate towards, so I will be adding it to my makeup bag. This is an office-friendly shade that anyone should be able to wear.
The last item in this box is the Kiss New York Professional Pro Touch Setting Powder ($9). I have used several products from this brand so I am excited to give this setting powder a try. It claims to control oil for an all-day matte finish.
The September OnyxBox also included a Thank You from Law Beauty as well as a $10 off of $50 from Tokyomilk.
As an added bonus, those who joined WeAreOnyx during September, with the limited code, also received a bonus box.
In the bonus box, I received was 3 additional products. This was a limited offer, but I have seen several other instances of special offers, so don't worry. I am sure there are other coupon codes to be had.If you have been following me on Instagram, you know that I have recently added serums and oils to my skincare routine. I was just about to order a vitamin c serum, so this Rutz Potent-C ($52) (pronounced Roots), came just in time.
Next, was the Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Palette ($35) System. These are great warm neutral shades. The magnetic system has several greatly pigmented shades available.
Lastly, in the bonus box is a product I already use, Eden Body Works Citrus Fusion Refresher. ($9.99). I will be adding this to my handbag. I like to have a refresher with me, in case my hair needs a little boost throughout the day.
While this was my first OnyxBox, I am happy with the contents and look forward to the future boxes and will be sure to share the contents with you. Are you interested in joining WeAreOnyx? It's simple. Each box is $25 per month including shipping. As I mentioned earlier, there are often coupon codes available to you could get your first box for less, and/or get a bonus box.
