Barielle: Smarty Pants Pink

Ever since OPI released its Pink Friday a few seasons ago, I've been loving pink cream polishes and it appears that most brands are releasing similar shades.  I recently went though my stash and found just a few similar polishes. A recent addition to my collection comes from the Barielle brand. I received today's shade, Smarty Pants Pink, as part of the Barielle Brilliant Colors collection.  I don't know what it is about this color family, it doesn't appear to be anything really special but it is certainly a shade that needs to be in our stash.

Here, I'm wearing 2 coats to achieve true bottle color.  The formulation was smooth with no application issues.

As I mentioned above, just about every brand has at least one shade similar. Here are those in my stash. L to R: Barielle Smarty Pants Pink, SC Cotton Candy, OPI Pink Friday, Barielle Pink Flip Flops, SC Over It, SinfulShine Yours Truly.

What are some of your favorite pink creams?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

Barielle Summer Brights & reminder of the Tips to Toes Sweepstakes...

I've recently posted a few of Barielle's nail lacquers I received to review.  I also posted about the Barielle Facebook Tips to Toes Sweepstakes.  10 winners will receive over $100 worth of Barielle products and 1 grand prize winner will receive a Michael Kors wallet and over $100 worth of Barielle products. Since the sweepstakes ends tomorrow, May 27, 2013 @ 12:00 pm (EDT), I thought I would share with you another look at one of the Barielle 5-shades sets, also received to review. If selected as one of the winners of the Barielle Tips to Toes Sweepstakes, you will be allowed to select one of the 5-shades sets.

The most recent set released is the Barielle Summer Brights.

Pink Flip-Flops is a classic baby pink cream, that all collections need. When I first saw it, the addict in me had to compare. It is very similar to OPI Pink Friday.  I had some slight streaking with this, but for some reason, I experience that same issue with most baby pink creams.

Blue Capri is a dusty yet vibrant royal blue cream. Of course, this is my favorite of the collection. Application was easy, I applied 2 coats but along with a base coat...I am suspect of most dark blue polishes and staining. The closest polishes in my collection are Illamasqua Cameo (lighter) and American Apparel Cameo Blue (more grey).

Next, is Sweet Addiction, is a dusty teal green cream. While I do have several polishes in the same green family, I really don't have anything that dupes Sweet Addiction. The closest is OPI Mermaid's Tears, but Sweet Addiction is darker and more green. This could be a one-coater, but out of habit, I applied 2 coats.

Here we have Cosmic Kiss.  This is a bright, raspberry magenta pink cream. Not unique, but pretty still. I found a couple polishes that were close to Cosmic Kiss; Zoya Lara, and OPI Strawberry Margarita.

Lastly, is Lemon Drops, a bright, warm, yellow cream. Lemon Drops is an ideal Summer shade. I own no exact dupes to this shade of yellow. The closest is Sinful Colors Unicorn, which is more milky.

Barielle Summer Brights is a great collection. Worn alone or as a base for layering or other nail art, these are great colors to be included in any nail polish collection.

Glitter Galore: Barielle Bling-Purple Hearts & Starchild

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review some of the Barielle Nail Lacquers and Nail products.  I was excited because I have always thought of Barielle as a high-end, high quality brand. This may sound odd, but I still remember the sense of pride I felt when I purchased my first Barielle nail lacquer.

So being that I am currently going through a serious glitter craze, two of the polishes I selected were Barielle's Purple Hearts and Starchild
Purple Hearts

Barielle Purple Hearts is a gorgeous clear based glitter with purple, silver, & holo glitters in addition to larger purple hexagonals.  The glitters are densely packed so the application was easier than many glitters I have dealt with. There was not need to "place" the glitters.

Purple Hearts is great for layering. You are only limited by your creativity.  The first base I chose was the vibrant royal purple-China Glaze Creative Fantasy.  I love how the holo glitters pop with this manicure combination.

Another color combination I decided to try was a lighter pale purple to show all the detail of the Barielle Purple Hearts; for that, I chose China Glaze Sweet Hook. With this lighter base, the micro glitters are more evident and the ease of application is understandable. You can see the even spread of the glitters.

Starchild
The next glitter I chose was Barielle Starchild. It's an absolutely gorgeous silver, densely packed, holographic glitter, with both micro and hexagonal glitters.  I have seen many other holo glitters, but this has an awesome holo effect.

So far, I am loving the Barielle glitters. They spread evenly and don't require placing the glitters, like so many of the other glitters need. Starchild will complement any base color.  But one of the first colors I selected was China Glaze Grape Juice. This darker base, helped to bring out the various particles in Barielle Starchild. Whether I was using flash lighting or natural light, the holographic glitters popped!

The last for this post I decided to combine with Barielle Starchild is a silver base. I chose Nfu-Oh 61 (silver holographic). This combination was one of those I just couldn't stop staring at. I realize that it is just May 3rd, but I have already claimed this as a New Years Eve manicure. This very well may be my favorite silver holograpic glitter.  It will definitely need to do a comparison of those that I own.
Barielle is a brand that I have been aware of for many years, and I prior to this opportunity, I did own a couple shades. I look forward to wearing the other Barielle polishes now in my collection.  As I mentioned earlier, I still remember the first Barielle I purchased-Berry Blue, big surprise! I just wish they were more readily available. For me, products like nail polish are those that I like to see in person.  What are some of your favorite Barielle Nail Lacquers and/or Nail Products?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

NOTD: Barielle Berry Blue w/ ChG Fairy Dust Accent

Barielle Berry Blue w/China Glaze Fairy Dust
If you have been following my blog for any time you know that my passion is with the dark blues and although I am trying to wear more of the "spring/summer colors", I had to sneak in one of my dark blues.  I recently came across a true Blurple (Blue Purple) cream in Barielle Berry Blue.  Although I have long since been familiar with Barielle's nail strengthening products, this is my first run with a Barielle polish.  With this application, the polish was a bit thick (nothing a few drops of thinner can't fix), but the application was smooth.  Barielle proudly boasts of its early concept of 3-Free: Formaldehyde, Toluene or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) free.  They recently had a great 50% off sale.  I hope you were able to pick up some of their nail colors.  If not, keep an eye out for the next opportunity.  Locally, I purchase my Barielle polishes from Ulta.

As with most of my photos, this is BC, then two coats of NP and TC. The accent finger is two coats of Berry Blue, and two coats of China Glaze Fairy Dust followed with a TC.  Most of you are already familar with Fairy Dust-the China Glaze scattered holographic silver top coat.

Lastly, my nails are growing back nicely.  Below is the growth progress from just a little under a month.  That's all for this post.  Remember, treat your nails as Jewels, not tools.

Grace and Peace.
