More Milani Color Statement Lipsticks Swatches...

I know that by now, you've probably been inundated with YT videos and blog posts about the New Milani Color Statement Lipsticks Collection. As I mentioned in my early February Drugstore Haul YT video, I picked up 4 of their lipsticks, but since then I've purchased a "few" more. My lipstick addition is running a close second to my nail polish addiction, LOL!

On the off-chance that you haven't heard about the New Milani Color Statemet Lipstick Collection, their claim is as follows:

"COLOR STATEMENT LIPSTICK

Make a statement without saying a word!  True Instant Color. One stroke, full coverage application. This next generation lipstick gives the ultimate in color, texture and finish.  The lightweight creamy formula contains Vitamins A, C, & E to moisturize and nourish lips. Paraben-free. Available in Vinyl, Metallic, Cream, Shimmer, Pearl & Matte finish."

L-to-R: Cherry Crave (Metallic) is a gorgeous red with golden highlights, Teddy Bare (Cream) a perfect pinky nude, Bronze Beauty (Shimmer) a copper-penny bronze
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
L-to-R: Raspberry Rush (Metallic) a more sheer pink with blue undertones, Uptown Mauve (Cream) a blue-based magenta, Chilled Brandy (Shimmer) a warm burgundy, Violet Volt (Metallic)-one of the must haves
 I really like the new packaging of this collection. It's a sleek and classic gold with a true-to-life color end-cap; no more having to open the tube to determine the color.
REVIEW: Sinful Colors...Another Lip Shine Collection
Last Summer, I did a blog post on a collection of lip glosses from the nail polish company, Sinful Colors. I really liked that collection. The collection was pigmented and contained a few MAC dupes.  If you would like to see that earlier post, click HERE
I recently came across another collection of lip glosses from Sinful Colors, and based on my first experience with the brand and their lippies, I wasn't hesitant to buty this latest collection.  At first sight, the colors looked to be perfect for Spring & Summer. The collection of this Summer was all creams, but this latest collections were mostly shimmers, with 1 cream.
The first is Flirt Alert, which is a pink shimmer.  This would work good alone for a soft look or layered over maybe MAC Sweetie or Up The Amp.
 Next is Always (not Really) Red. It is the only cream in the collection. If you have the red gloss from the original collection, Love Potion, you don't need this one.  I don't know if this is a re-release, but they look the same to me.
Then there is Strawberry Kisses, a warm pink shimmer. Of this collection, this is probably my favorite.
Fruit Cocktail, is a coral-salmon pink with micro shimmer. I guess this could add a shine to pretty much any pink, or nude lipstick.
Lastly is Peach Me. This is the one I was most excited about as well as most disappointed.  As the name denotes, Peach Me is a pretty soft peach with a golden shimmer-in the tube.  On the lips, it is extremely sheer. I will be layering this over my nudes, bronzes, & corals.
What disappointed me the most about Peach Me was the applicator. My first time removing the wand from the tube, the wand was without the doe-foot sponge.  I will need to purchase some disposible wands during my next trip to Sally Beauty.  This is not my first issue with the Sinful Colors Lip Shines.  The first collection had packaging issues also. The squeggie thing that meters the amount of product that stays on the wand, came off 3 of the 5 lip glosses I purchased. I hope Sinful Colors makes an improvement to their packaging.
Fail-Where is the Doe-Foot?
 While these glosses all look very pigmented in their tubes, they each have a different level of pigmentation.  The early collection is definitely more pigmented. Also, I don't know if there is been a change to the formula, but this collection is more stickly than the first. So Lesson learned: I should not base future purchases on past experiences.  I'm kind of disappointed with this collection.
I mentioned in my original post that the Sinful Colors Website was under construction.  Since then their site is up but there is no mention of their lip shines.
Have you tried any of these latest Sinful Colors Lip Shines, and if so what was your opinion? Do you prefer the shimmers or the creams?
Grace, Peace, & Blessings.
***NEW***: butter LONDON™ LIPPY Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection
Trends for Autumn/Winter 2012:
The matchy-matchy lip and nail trend is here to stay! Inspired by the high-impact lips seen on the catwalks this season, the LIPPY Autumn/Winter 2012 collection includes bold pops of color, chic nudes and a vampy hue. The shades are rich and highly pigmented for a look that’s luxe and perfectly on trend!
Toff
Colour: A darker, dustier, brownish variation on a rose pink. Stop to smell them. The roses, not the toffs.
Definition:  A slightly derogatory name for a member of the British upper class.
Come to Bed Red
Colour:  The sexiest red in history, by butter LONDON.
Definition:  ENOUGH SAID! A butter best seller for “Coco” wannabes.
Tea with the Queen
Colour:  On the pink side of tan, very neutral, but never boring. Understated and exceptional for work, or obviously, tea with the Queen.
Definition:  A highly prestigious invitation extended to important and boring members of the British public.
La Moss
Colour:  Vampy and full of red wine, just like its inspiration.
Definition:  Adding the prefix “La” to anyone’s name implies that they are a diva. A fashionista’s nickname for England’s most famous model.
Queen Vic
Colour:  Stunning, elegant and classy. Red wine meets cranberry. Fit for a queen.
Definition:  Beloved monarch, responsible for many of London’s most beautiful landmarks. (Also the name of about 3,000 English pubs).
REVIEW: Sally Hansen Moisture Twist 2+1 Primer + Color
For as far back as I can remember, when I thought of the brand Sally Hansen, one product came to mind. I can't remember a time when at least one bottle of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails wasn't in my home.  Recently, I spotted new product from Sally Hansen-a Lip Product. I knew that Sally Hansen had other products like spray tans and hair removal products. But for some reason, I just never even considered anything other than their nail products.
Sally Hansen Moisture Twist 2-in-1 Primer + Color, is a fairly new product that combines lip primer with shine and color.  It touts the following benefits:
Benefits
  • +30% more moisture, instantly
  • Antioxidant formula has Jojoba, Sunflower & Moroccan Argan oils
  • Non-sticky, weightless feel
So during my most recent trip to Walgreens I decided to give this product a try. Sally Hansen Moisture Twist comes in 10 different shades.  Walgreens had the Sally Hansen products on sale (reg. $5.29, Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, so I decided on Plum Pirouette and Fuschia Fusion.
Plum Pirouette is a faintly pigmented mauve plum with a light golden shimmer. The formulation is as advertised, is weightless and non-sticky. There is a slight vanilla scent but the scent is not offensive.
Fuschia Fusion is a blue-based pink with a teal shimmer.  These lip colors come with a doe-foot applicator.  Of the two I purchased, Fuschia Fusion is my favorite.  But I may still purchased a couple more - Cherry Twist and Berry Blend.
I know that many are on the hunt for the perfect opaque lip color, but sometimes I prefer a sheer, so  Sally Hansen Moisture Twist 2-in-1 Primer + Color is a good option.  And as a 40+ woman, I'm always looking for that holy grail product to help ward off the signs of aging.  With Jojoba, Sunflower & Moroccan Argan oils, this product has great antioxidant benefits.
Are there any other Sally Hansen products, that you have tried and really like that I should consider?
Grace, Peace, & Blessings.
REVIEW: Sinful Colors...Not just Nail Polish anymore...
Sinful Colors is not just nail polish anymore.  Sinful Colors had always been a nail polish only company, to me that is, until recently.  A couple of months ago, while in Walgreens, I was surprised to come across a collection of Sinful Colors Lip Shines.  The were each very sheer with very little color, so I did not purchase any. However, the lovely ladies of Facebook group, Fabulous Faces, had been talking about the latest Sinful Colors Lip Shines.  I had not seen the particular collection, until recently. I was in Walgreens, again, and this time came across the more colored set.  And without hesitation, I grabbed all five of the collection.  The price, $2.99, made that an easy stunt. LOL!  There had been talk about how these were duppish of some MAC glosses.  I don't own any MAC lip glosses so I can't do any real comparisons, so I will just let the pictures speak for themselves.  Let's get started:
The first is Pucker Up Baby, which is a bubble-gum pink that reminds me of the MAC Pink Friday that was so highly sought after last Spring.
The next is Back To Fuchsia, which is a more magenta fuschia pink.  It reminds me of MAC Girl About Town.
Next in the collection is Hot To Trot.  This is a more corally-pink. From what I can see, it's similar to MAC Impassioned.
Orange and Tangerine were very popular shades for the season and Sinful Colors included their own version. Orange You Sweet is just as the name suggests, an orange, reminiscent of Revlon Firecracker Lip Gloss or MAC M'Orange.
Lastly, is Love Potion, a true red. Personally, I would love to see this layered over MAC Ruby Woo.
So that is all for this collection.  While I don't normally wear lip glosses alone, I did this post with just the glosses so that you could see the level of pigmentation.  Compared to some of the more high end brands, Sinful Colors Lip Shines are some you will want to add to your collection.
I know that the Sinful Colors website has been down for an extended period of time.  But I have recently seen signs of life along with a new large display of nail polishes so I hope that the Umpa-Lumpas in the Sinful Colors factory are starting to work again and will be releasing more polishes and glosses soon.
*This blog post is dedicated to 2 of my sisters from Fabulous Faces-M. Green and T. Blackwell.  Thanks ladies for the suggestion.
Have you given these newest Sinful Colors Lip Shines a try and if so what were your opinions? What are some of the next shades you would like to see added to the line?
Grace, Peace, & Blessings.
