China Glaze – Fifth Avenue - Interview Polish

For weeks now I have been flashing the more fashion forward polishes: purples, blues, and greens, but with a interview on Monday, I felt it appropriate to calm down the nails.  So I thought about the common French manicure but decided on the, IMO, conservative yet still fashionable China Glaze Fifth Avenue.  This polish had been on my untried list for months.  I remember, even before purchasing it, I scoped it out in Sally’s and Ulta for months.  I always thought it was so soft and pretty.  I finally added it to my collection.  And as with most China Glaze polishes, I was not disappointed. 

REVIEW: As I stated, Fifth Avenue is a soft, pinkish dusty rose creme.  To achieve this level of opacity, it took only 2 coats with a Base and Top coat.  There was no streaking and the application was smooth.

Is there really, "A Sin Worth Committing"?

My normal polish change days are Tuesdays and Saturdays, but for some reason I found myself wanting to change earlier.  So after much thought about which untried to try I decided on Misa-A Sin Worth Committing.  The name alone made me laugh since I had a church meeting to attend tonight.  It said “worth committing” not that I actually committed the sin…LOL!!! 

Review: This is a beautiful, midnight, shimmer, blue, reminiscent of the midnight sky.  But not so dark that it appears black.  This was also the first full application of a Misa polish and I must admit, I love the application.  It applies smooth and without any streaking.  In this photo, I am wearing a Base Coat, two coats of polish and the SV top coat.  Based on the application of the polish, I will be purchasing more Misa products.  So don’t worry, this polish is “A Sin Worth Committing.”  Grace and Peace!!! 









China Glaze: Vintage Vixen - Foxy!!!

I know that many strive to own entire collections of polishes, but that has never been my goal.  I purchase what I like and seldom are there entire collections in which I like all the colors.  But if I had to chose one collection it would be China Glaze Vintage Vixen.  Of the 12 colors, I currently own 5 (Midnight Mission, Bogie, Emerald Fitzgerald, Hey Baby, and my NOTD: Foxy) and plan on purchasing 4 others (1^st Class Ticket, Ingrid, Riveter Rouge, and Goin’ my Way?).  I am not a fan of the crackles or shatters, so I anxiously await the Escape collection in April, Metro in July and Let it Snow in September.  I already have spotted several polishes that I need to add to my collection.  

REVIEW: Foxy, is a beautiful warm, burnt, reddish bronze.  The application is common to China Glaze, smooth.  In this photo, it took two coats to achieve this look, followed by a SV Top Coat. Please excuse the nick, wasn't quite dry when I went to bed.

OPI-Pamplona Purple



As usual, I had a difficult time selecting my polish for my mani.  I thought with Valentine's Day fast approaching, I would of course be wearing my favorite red, Orly-Bus Stop Crimson, but that wasn't the case.  I spent one night swatching shades of blues, purples, greens, and magentas.  Finally decided on OPI-Pamplona Purple.  This is an absolutely beautiful medium cream purple, not too red, not too blue; just perfect.  It is very close to OPI-Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not, just without the shimmer and maybe one shade lighter, but still beautiful.  I am really surprised at how much I am really liking the fashion colors-purples, blues and greens.

My 1st 10 Followers...WOW!!!

My first 10 followers…WOW!!!  Thank you. I don’t know what I expected when I started my nail blog.  I was just looking for a place to journal my growing obsession with nail polish.  It was purely by accident that I stumbled across the world of nail bloggers.  I always thought that this was my own little obsession that no one else would understand; glad to learn that I was wrong.  With all the different nail blogs and Make-up Alley, you guys have become a daily stopping place for me and my mani decisions.  I don’t know what the future holds but I know it will be polished…Grace and Peace.
