Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Collection Swatches

Although it's below freezing right now, Spring is just around the corner.  The cosmetic companies are already releasing their Spring collections.  Recently I found Sinful Colors release in my local Walgreens.  Sugar Rush is the Sinful Colors Spring collection, well at least so far; Sinful Colors is infamous for multiple collection releases.  Sinful Colors is also infamous for releasing collections containing repromotes however from this collection there is only 1 repromote, the rest are new shades. At first sight, I assumed that this was a collection of pastel creams, but surprisingly I was wrong. There were some surprises in this collection.

The one repromote in this collection is Unicorn.  It a dusty pale yellow cream. This picture is two coats. There is still VNL so I would suggest three coats.

Sugar Rush, the collection's namesake, is a soft powder blue cream.  In this photo, I am wearing two coats and obtained a complete opaque application.

Next, is Sugar N' Spice, is not neon but a bright raspberry pink. It reminds me of Sinful Colors Cream Pink. I need to do a side-by-side comparison. Sugar N' Spice has a very fine micro shimmer. Pictured with two coats.

Sweet Nothing is a dusty teal.  Previously I would have described this as a cream finish, but recently, one of my nail polish blogger mentors, Rhonda, of Nails Beautiqued, introduced me to a new term, "Crellies". I would definitely call Sweet Nothing a cream jelly-"Crellie". It has the consistency of both a cream and a jelly.

The next four shades threw me for a loop. I looked at the bottles and saw cream pastels.  The surprisingly, they each have a very faint shimmer. First is Cotton Candy. This is another polish I would describe as a creme jelly. Since it's not as opaque as a true cream, I suggest 3 coats. Pictured here is two coats and I have VNL and some streaks.

Orange Cream, a peachy orange, crellie, was the first of the collection in which I noticed the shimmer. The application is streaky so apply with care.
Next is Candy Coated. It is a periwinkle-lilac crellie, with the same faint shimmer.  I think this is one of my favorites in this collection.

Lastly, is Sweet Tooth, which I would describe as a soft lavendar. It also has the same faint shimmer.

So that is the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection. If you were to get this collection, you will be set for Spring.  Alone or layered these polishes give you great combination opportunities.

And this collection was released just in time for another Walgreens Sinful Colors sale. This week, 2/17-23, there is a $1.00 off coupon in the Walgreens Sale circular. So here is your opportunity to get some of these new polishes or get some of the others you've been wanting to get.

Are you ready for Spring? What colors are you excited to reintroduce into your wardrobe for the season?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

UNBOXING & 1st IMPRESSIONS: EyeLuv Colors Palette

Last Fall I receive a Press Announcement regarding the launching of a new online cosmetics company. Normally, that wouldn't be too big a deal, as a blogger, I get announcements and invites to beauty related events all the time. But what really caught my attention was that this company was going to be based out of my city.  I could clearly understand if I still lived in New York, or lived in Los Angeles or even Atlanta or Orlando, but not Jacksonville, Florida. We are known for Gator Football, our Naval Bases, our Shipping Ports and maybe even our NFL Team, but not for Cosmetics. So you can imagine my excitement to learn that EyeLuv was going live on December 2, 2012 right here in Jacksonville, Florida.

So first, who is EyeLuv?

EyeLuv was founded in 2012 by Dee Cheshire and Juli Sorg, and specialize in customizable makeup palettes containing eye shadows, blushes, and brow definers. They also offer eyeliners, mascaras, mineral shadows, and brushes. They offer an extensive color palette, and is compatible with all skin colors and types.

Also, what makes EyeLuv different from other cosmetic companies that offer palettes?

EyeLuv's new online store, www.EyeLuvColor.com allows customers to create their personal palettes with an extensive variety of eye, blush, and brow colors of their choice. Palettes are available with an eco-friendly design and are made of recycled materials. The palettes are magnetic, making them reusable with new colors.

What are my first impressions of the EyeLuv Color Palette?

I really liked the presentation. My product came packaged in purple tissue paper with a pink ribbon.
The palette is a matte plastic with a secure snap closure. It's also magnetic so that the shadows, blushes, and brow powders can all be replace, and/or changed out.  This one palette holds 4 shadows and two powders (blush and/or brow).  It's compact size makes it perfect for travel and to keep in your handbag.
The EyeLuv Color Palette measures approximately 4H x 4.5W x 0.5D and has a large mirror.

The colors EyeLuv chose to send me for review are as follows:
 Pixie Blush Sorbet
Dark Brown Brow Definer
Sandstone (Top Left)
Polarizing Purple (Bottom Left)
Plum Velvet (Top Right)
Naughty (Bottom Right)

So, that's all fine and well, but what's most important, how does the product perform? How's the pigmentation?

So here are some quick first swatches. The blush is across the top of my hand, while the four shadows are striped blow the blush.  Initially I was concerned about the colors not being WOC friendly, but as you can see, these will work for our chocolate ladies.

To touch, the shadows are velvety and not the dreaded chalky.  At first look, they appear to be blendable and fairly pigmented.  So upon my inital look, I love the concept of the palette; the shadows, blush, & brow powder all in one. And look forward to seeing what eye looks I can get from this combination.

So for all of you that have cleaned out your purse and found enough beauty products to stock a vanity, this may be the solution to your problem.

Statistics:

Price:  $37.50 for the EyeLuv Color palette that comes with 4 custom shadows, and 2 custom blush/brow definers.

NOTD: Orly Miss Conduct w/ OPI DS Extravagance Comparison

Hello All. I know its been a while, I hope everyone had an enjoyable Valentine's Day. Also, I would like to say "Welcome" to all my newer followers. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

On to my current NOTD. One of my all-time favorite polishes is OPI DS Extravagance, so when I first spotted Orly Miss Conduct from their 2012 Naughty  or Nice Holiday collection, I was intrigued.  Orly has long since been one of my favorite brands; in my opinion they have some of the best creme polishes.
Orly Miss Conduct is an absolutely beautiful magenta-raspberry based scattered holographic polish. This was one of those manicures I couldn't stop staring at throughout the day. And when in the sun, OMG! Drop-dead gorgeous!  The application was almost a one-coater, but as I always do, I applied two coats.  The formula was smooth and generated no flooding of the cuticles. These pictures are with a top coat. Using my regular polish application process, I experienced no chipping, or peeling.
I would love to see Orly release an entire collection of jewel-toned polishes with this finish. Could you imagine an Amethyst Purple, a Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green, or Citrine Gold, each with this holographic finish, OMG! That would be a must for my collection.  Well I can only hope.
As I mentioned earlier, this polish reminded me of one of my all-time favorites, so of course I needed to do a side-be-side comparison. OPI DS Extravagance is darker and the holo is not as strong as Orly Miss Conduct. But both are still great additions to any collection.
OPI Extravagance can still be found in some retail locations. But since Orly Miss Conduct was part of their holiday collection, it is probably not still sold in stores.  But I have seen it on some of the online retailer's websites.

Every so often I come across a polish, that I really regret having to remove, Orly Miss Conduct is one of those polishes. If you can find it, I would strongly suggest you grab it up quickly.

What are some of those polishes that you love and hate having to remove?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.
