Harvesting Some More Oranges: Pure Ice Twinkle & Wet n Wild Club Tropicana

Yesterday I started a mini-series on some of my favorite oranges, corals, and peachy nail polishes. I've been loving these colors lately and have been trying to go through my untrieds.  One thing for certain, I have love all the polishes I have acquired in the past. Not a dud in the bunch yet.

Today I have two more. Let's start with an apricot-peach with a golden shimmer. I purchased Pure Ice Twinkle from Walmart at least 2-3 years ago. The golden micro shimmer just adds something to this polish and it complements any tanned skin, thereby making it perfect for Spring & Summer manicures and pedicures. This is 2 coats and I had no issues with the application. As I mentioned, I purchased this Pure Ice polish from Walmart and the MSRP is $1.97-very budget friendly.

This next polish is one I have also have for at least 2 years. Wet n Wild Club Havana, a dusty orange cream. It was one of the first Megalast polishes I purchased from Walgreens when Wet N Wild first redesigned the Megalast polish line. Notice the "New" label. I don't know why I was hesitant to wear more shades from this brand. I love the colors, the formula and even the brush. Not to mention, the price is very budget friendly at $1.99. Wet n Wild Club Havana, in particular was a bit streaky, but with a little care, application wasn't a big issue.

I hear rumor that there are several new Wet n Wild Megalast polishes being released this Spring/Summer, so I am excited to see what the future shades look like. Have you spotted any of the newer Wet n Wild Megalast polishes yet? NouveauCheap posted earlier this year about the 40+ new shades set to be release and I can wait to see them in person.

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

Glitter Galore: Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas with Pure Ice Playtime (Bare It All)

To me, there's something about today's manicures that just scream elegant! Maybe it's the descriptive I'm using, it a "Champagne Gold".  Today I'm sharing with you two more from Pure Ice. The first is Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas. I have other gold nail polishes but this one is classic and elegant. I could certainly see this on a Red Carpet.

Pure Ice is a brand sold at Walmart for less than $2.00 a bottle. When I first started purchasing Pure Ice polishes, it was for their layering polishes. Some of their earlier polishes were just gorgeous for layering. They could definitely add to a manicure and Pure Ice is still one of my favorite brands.
.
This Champagne Gold shimmer polish has a taupe undertone and is another that gives me with my skintone a mannequin hand effect.  Here I am wearing 2 coats but to avoid visible nail lines, I would suggest 3 coats.  Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas is a great shade to have in any polish collection.

While Pure Ice Viva Las Vegas can stand on its own, I felt the need to add some bling. So to it, I layered another Pure Ice, but this time a glitter, Pure Ice Playtime; which has been re-released as Bare It All.  Bare It All is described as an "ultra-fine, dense gold and copper glitter". While I ready owned Playtime, I received a bottle of Pure It Bare It All for review. Since I already own one, I'll add this to my Giveaway Stash.

This is another polish that I would describe as "elegant". I've been going through a glitter phase lately and some glitters can be "in your face". However this Pure Ice Bare It All has a stylish and chic look. Again, this manicure just brings visions of a gold formal dress with the matching shoes and gold beaded clutch. If ever I'm presented that opportunity, at least I have the manicure ready.
Pure Ice released several new shades earlier this year.  Have you had the chance to try any and if so, which have been your favorites?  I have several other Pure Ice polishes to share with you.   Again, Pure Ice can be found at your local Walmart.  So the next time you venture out to Walmart, stop by the Pure Ice display.  For a list of the Pure Ice polishes, click HERE.

Glitter Galore: Sinful Color Diamond Lust Collection - Shine On Me layered with Pure Ice Free Fall

Well today, I'm sharing with you the last of the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust Glitter Polishes that I purchased.  There were 8 polishes in the collection, but I only purchased 6. The last two were just two similar to polishes already in my stash.  Now on to this last glitter, I won't say that I saved my least favorite for last, I'll just say that Sinful Colors Shine On Me took the most effort to work with.  It appears to be a very sparse chunky glitter.  There are micro, mid-sized and larger diamond-shaped holographic glitters. Looking at Shine On Me closely, it's probably just as packed as the others, it's just that the micro glitter in Shine On Me is a holo-clear. So with that being the case you only see the colored mid and diamond glitters, thereby making it appear sparse.

I decided to pull one of the untrieds, Pure Ice Free Fall, from my stash to use as a undercoat.  Free Fall is a bright, fluorescent pink shimmer.  That is one of the things I like about the Pure Ice brand, while the initial reason I started buying their polishes was for their layering shades, they really do make some great opaque shades that are perfect for undercoats.  This is 2 coats. I will still need to do another manicure with Free Fall standing on its own.

Layered over Pure Ice Free Fall I placed Sinful Colors Shine On Me. As I mentioned about, the micro glitters are holo-clear, so all you really see are the mid-sized and diamond glitters. This is another case of me having to "place" the larger glitters to achieve a somewhat even look.

Well I have enjoyed this collection and it has sparked a glitter bug in me. So you can be assured that there will be other glitter manicures in the very near future. I hope you found these posts helpful and maybe even generated some glitter love.  So if asked, which were my favorites? I think it would be a tie between Rags to Riches (Green), I Dream In Jewels (Gold), and Queen of Deco (Purple).   Which has been your favorite of the collection?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

Glitter Galore: Sinful Color Diamond Lust Collection - Queen Of Deco layered with Pure Ice New Lilac

I've been sharing with you the polishes I purchased from the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust Collection. As you may remember, the Diamond Lush collection is described as an "Intense 3D effects for the ultimate bling". So far, I have really enjoyed each of these polishes that I have purchased. They have initiated a love of glitters.

The next in that collection that I have to share with you is a lilac purple combination.  So first I had to decide on what base I wanted to use.  Another Pure Ice polish in my stash was ideal.  I chose Pure Ice New Lilac, a lilac frost.  I'm normally not a big fan of frost polishes but this a great complement for today's glitter-Sinful Colors Queen of Deco.

Pure Ice New Lilac is a very Spring appropriate pastel lilac frost. As with most frost polishes, it gave me some challenges with brushstrokes but being that I was layering this polish, no big deal.  If I were to wear this alone, I would just need to take more care during the application process.  I don't think Pure Ice polishes get as much love as they should. They have some really great colors AND they are only $1.97 at Walmart.

To the Pure Ice New Lilac I layered Sinful Colors Queen of Deco.  Queen of Deco is a clear base with micro purple and silver glitter.  It also has purple holographic diamond shaped glitters mixed throughout. The application was like most chunky glitters; the larger diamond-glitters needed to be placed for an even application.
I need to go through my polish collection and choose some other polishes to layer with Sinful Colors Queen Of Deco.  What colors would you suggest?

I still have a few other Sinful Colors Diamond Lust glitters to share to stay tuned...

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

Glitter Galore: Sinful Color Diamond Lust Collection - I Dream In Jewels layered over Pure Ice Over The Top

Last week I started sharing with you some of the Sinful Colors glitters I purchased from the new Diamond Lust collection along with complementary bases.  I am still surprised just how much I have been drawn to glitters lately.

Today, I have another combination to share.  When I first saw the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust display, the very first polish I was drawn to was a gorgeous golden copper glitter named I Dream In Jewels. This clear base has a mixture of gold and red micro glitters along with holographic diamond shaped glitter.
As I explained previously, the Sinful Colors Diamond Lust collection consists of clear bases with colorful  and holographic glitters. There are multiple sized and shaped glitters, including micro, diamond, bar, dot and hexagonal.

I decided to layer Sinful Colors I Dream In Jewels over another of my untrieds. I decided on Pure Ice Over The Top. This was one of the limited edition polishes Pure Ice released as part of their Runway Collection last Fall.  Over The Top was part of the Velour Finish Collection.  It dries to a gorgeous matte suede finish.  I love this shade and finish against my skin tone. I own a couple others and need to see if I can find the others from this collection.  The application was simple with no issues. As pictured, this is 2 coats.

So to my Pure Ice Over The Top manicure, I layered Sinful Colors I Dream In Jewels. I am loving this combination and can't wait to match it with other shades in my stash.  It almost has a mannequin look but with a little bling.

Well, I will have other Sinful Colors Diamond Lust combination very soon.  If you missed my previous post, click here to see Rags To Riches

The glitter bug has really bitten me. I have been buying glitter polishes like crazy lately. What are some of your favorite glitter polishes?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

Autism Awareness: Pure Ice Blue Midnight

Today's blue manicure is from the Pure Ice Velour Finish collection that was released during the Fall of 2012.  This collection is described as having a suede finish.  Today's manicure is Pure Ice Blue Midnight.  This is a deep blue that dries to a matte/suede finish.

While you could add a top coat to achieve a shiny finish, I enjoyed the velvet finish. The application required 2 coats to prevent any visible nail line.
I decided to add a little bling by doing an accent nail.  I pulled another untried from my stash. I added Pure Ice Never Satisfied-a blue based glitter. It has blue micro glitter and pink & gold hexagonal glitters.  I like the contrast of the suede finish and the one glitter accent nail.

Pure Ice released several new limited edition polishes last year. I need to see if I can find any of them.  I really do like this Velour Finish collection. Did you get any of their limited edition collections and if so which are your favorites?

Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

SERIES: Bottle Spam - Pure Ice

I recently did a post on one of the newest collections from Pure Ice, inspired by the release of the The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn (click Here to visit). As I mentioned it on one of the Facebook Makeup groups that I am a member of, one of my make-up sisters (M. Green), mentioned that she had never purchased any Pure Ice polishes.  So I took this as an opportunity to continue one of the series I started earlier this year.  The series was bottle spam from several of my collections.  So here are the bottle spam shots of my Pure Ice Collection.
L - R: Celestial, French Kiss, In The Mood, All Night Long, Strapless

L - R: Lightening Strikes*, Beware, Don't You Wish

L - R: Not Now, First Time, Heartbreaker

L - R: Fast Lane, Bite Me, Twinkle, Lilac Mist, Watermelon Ice

L - R: New Lilac, Outrageous, Rio

L - R: No Means No, Purple Reign, Busted

If you haven't given Pure Ice polishes a try yet, you are really cheating yourself. And at less than $2.00 a bottle, you really don't have anything to lose.

Pure Ice: The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn pt 2 - Fang or Fur?

Inspired by the released by The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn, Pure Ice has released 5 new polishes.
"The end of the story begins with the bright pale skin (Nude Beach) with blazing red eyes (Glass of Bordeaux). A love story that asks a young girl to risk it all. The diamond ring (Silver Lining) and the garden wedding that changed everything. You can't take your eyes off that unforgettable BLUE dress (Getting Gorgeous) and the warmth and complexity of the wolf's imprint (Alter Ego)."

Getting Gorgeous - Blue with purple and blue Iridescent microglitter.  It should come as no surprise that this blue was my favorite of this collection. To acquire this level of opacity, required 3 coats.

Alter Ego - Rich coffee brown with copper microglitter and silver small shard flakes. Browns are normally outside of my comfort zone but surprisingly, I really do like this shade. To acquire this level of opacity, required 2 coats.

Nude Beach - Perfect nude with pearl shine and creme finish. The soft pearlized finish of this shade for some reason, just reminds me of cashmere. To acquire this level of opacity, required 2 coats.

Glass of Bordeaux - Sheer black with blood red microglitter. Can't afford those red bottom shoes, give this polish a try-LOL! A great fall shade. To acquire this level of opacity, required 3 coats.

Silver Lining - Clear polish with silver glitter and silver diamond large shard flakes. This will be a great New Years layering polish. I will love seeing this layered over a deep navy blue like Pure Ice All Night Long.  Like most chunky glitters, to get an effective application, it requires patting on the polish instead of the normal painting on of the polish. To acquire this level of opacity, required 2 coats.
