NOTD: My new Favorite Purple!

Today, I'm sharing another mono-chromatic manicure.  Today's theme is purple. I recently found a purple I had been wanting for ages.  During a trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond, I found it...Color Club's Disco Dress had been on my wish list since I saw it  posted on someone's blog. This color is absolutely, drop dead, GORGEOUS!!! It doesn't lean red and it doesn't lean blue...IMO, it is the perfect royal purple.

For this manicure, I used Color Club Disco Dress (Index, Pinkie, & Thumb), Jordana Purple Punch (Middle), and Sinful Colors Purple Gleam (Ring).

Color Club Disco Dress is the most gorgeous purple. The formulation is almost a one-coater. It dries matte. The one draw-back is the strong smell. As with all nail polishes, be sure to be in a well ventilated area when  polishing your nails.  This Jordana Purple Punch is a pretty shimmer, that leans pinky-purple.  The third polish used is one of the new Sinful Colors Crystal Crushes in Purple Gleam.  I was slow to join the texture bandwagon, but now I love them and am trying to get most of them. Purple Gleam has a pink micro glitter.  The texture is not as pronounced or textured as OPI Liquid Sand or Zoya Pixie Dust. But still a good one and should be a part of all collector's stash.

Here is Disco Dress with a top coat. This is one of those manicures, I admired throughout the day.  With all the polishes I own I really don't have a dupe to this polish. I really need to get a backup bottle.  I also need to see what collection this was a part of. I would love to see other shades in this formulation.

I purchased the Sinful Colors Crystal Crushes at Rite Aid ($2.99) Jordana at Kmart ($1.99), and Color Club from Bed, Bath & Beyond ($4.79)

Grace, Peace, and Blessings.

NOTD: Mono-Chromatic, Multi-Textured Manicure...Gold Finger

I've never really been big on a lot of nail art but I do love a mono-chromatic, multi-textured manicure.  It gives the the look of nail art without having to have the artistic abilities...LOL!  I think this will make for a great holiday manicure.

I was inspired by one of the shades from the China Glaze 2013 Holiglaze Holiday Collection. One of the shades I purchased was China Glaze Mingle with Kringle, a gorgeous cool yellow gold foil.

Once I decided on using Mingle with Kringle for my next manicure, it was easy to decide on the rest. Today's manicure includes, China Glaze Mingle with Kringle, OPI Honey Ryder, Orly Luxe, and Sally Hansen Glitter Gun. These four shades are all in the same color family but have different finishes.

I also love that it almost gives the mannequin hand look but with that extra bling.

While I may not wear any of these polishes as part of a full manicure, this manicure makes it easy to wear these gorgeous shade.

'Tis the Season for Healthier Lips with ChapStick...

The colder months are upon us, yes even here in Florida; we've gone from running the air conditioner to running the heater. And the Winter gift-giving holidays are within weeks. ChapStick, the brand that has been around for over 100 years, has provided some great stocking stuffer possibilities as well as some fun gifts for friends, teachers, and co-workers.
This holiday season, ChapStick has released some limited edition Holiday Tins. Each tin holds three full-sized ChapSticks. Some, three of the classic flavors (strawberry, cherry and spearmint) and others the candy cane seasonal flavor. And to make finding these tins even more fun, ChapStick has released these tins to various locations...Target, Walgreens and Walmart.  Each having their own exclusive tins.
Walmart Exclusives

Target Exclusives

Walgreen Exclusive
These are all great for gifting. ChapStick has really grown up. I remember my first experience with ChapStick. I will always remember that little black and white tube, the original ChapStick.
In addition to the tins above, exclusive to Target, are the ChapStick Collector's Edition Ornament Tins. These adorable round tins each contain 3 of the candy cane tubes (my favorite!) With the little ribbon, they also make great hanging ornaments.

Each of these tins retail for approximately $4.99. And it you are wanting just a single tube, they are retailing between $1-2.  We also need to remember, ChapStick isn't just for the colder months.  I use it year-round to keep my lips moisturized. One of my favorite uses, is as a "primer" when I wear matte lipsticks.  So the next time you are in Walmart, Target or Walgreens, pick up a few for those last minute stocking stuffers.

I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

 Grace, Peace, & Blessings.

I'm wearing Gray for Diabetes Awareness...

October well known as Breast Cancer Awareness month and receives tremendous support and although I've been blessed enough not to have had any of my immediate family or friends impacted, I, also show my support. But November is Diabetes Awareness Month and this hits very close to home.

It is estimated that Diabetes affects 25.8 million people of all ages, that’s 8.3 % of the U.S. Population. It is the leading cause of kidney failure, new cases of blindness among adults, non-traumatic amputations, a major cause of heart disease and stroke. Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S. (U.S. Dept of HHS)

Chances are you or someone you love will be or has been touched by this disease, but it does not have to be a death sentence. November is American Diabetes Month. So to honor the memory of my Father, and to support my dear friends affected by Diabetes, I ask that you to support the American Diabetes Associate Raise Your Hand to Stop Diabetes Campaign.

Are you concerned about your risk or the risk of a loved-one?  The American Diabetes Association's website has tons of information including a risk test.  If you are concerned please visit, www.diabetes.org and if you want to take the quick online risk test, Click Here.

One way I am showing my support, in lieu of a gray ribbon, is to wear gray nail polish. Today's manicure consists of Orly Decoded, and accented with Nina Pro Shooting Star, and FingerPaints Colorful Collage.

Won't you please join me and show your support for Diabetes Awareness.  Also, if you haven't already, visit the American Diabetes Associate website and take the risk test...It free and painless and could save a life.

Grace, Peace, and Blessings.
